We are now working on our good copy for the animal projects.  They should be done soon!  I have added sentences under the lecture tab Habitats et Communautés for the students to practise at home.  We will also practise in class.  I will sit down with them on Monday, November 20th to listen to them read.

Thursday, 2 November 2017

We are wrapping up our Habitat and Communities unit with an animal project.  The students had to choose an animal and research information on it.  Information such as description, habitat,  food  & type of animal, adaptations, food chain and predators.  Once they have the information, they will use the class examples to write their information into sentences.
In the meantime, we have been busy with our 1st Social Studies unit Physical and  Political Regions of Canada.  So far we have labelled a map with the provinces/territories and the capital city.

Monday, 16 October 2017

We continue with our Habitat and Communities unit.  We have practiced building food chains ( and included some French sentence structures )

e.g.  Le lapin mange la carotte.
La carotte est mangé par le lapin.

and we learned about adaptations;  physical traits and actions that allow animals to survive in their habitat.  Here is the link to a video we watched: Animal Adaptations

Hi there,

I am gradually building our class blog.   I have added some information on the side that I hope will be useful for you.

We have started with our first Science unit:  Habitats and Communities.  So far, we have talked about what a habitat is and what it provides. We have practiced food chains and we have classified the animals according to their role: producer, consumer, predator and prey.  I strongly encourage you to review these concepts in english at home to reinforce and to build on their knowledge.

Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend with your families!
